Wiggles {Carolina Style}

{source: weheartit}

While I love Nashville, there is a lot to be said for the Carolinas! And since I've been really missing my college friends (I went to school in SC), I thought I would get my wiggles out by reveling in some Carolina goodness.

New Music: Carolina Chocolate Drops -- a little bit of African slave ship tradition, a little bit jig, a lot of great string and vocals. It will get you dancing!

Shopping: You can't live in (South)Carolina and not own some Lilly. If you are not afraid of bright, bold, and frilly, Lilly Pulitzer is for you!

Blog Hopping: Although these gals aren't from the carolinas, they've still got charm! Check out Meg's Musings & Chi, Love, Vintage.

I was looking for a great purse for this outfit, but I think this is a bit more festive!

Silly Goose Dinner
{happy tummy}

David and I had a great weekend (first one in a while we haven't been out of town or had guests). Friday night was the perfect start with dinner with "the guys" at a new place for us, Silly Goose. Local cheese plate, grilled eggplant with roasted red pepper goat cheese sandwich, & coconut-citrus-curry ice cream! It was so yummy & bonus- no corking fee.

Saturday started early with a long run with a girlfriend. We set out for 8miles but managed 9.5! My golly how I wish I always had a fun friend to run with -- makes it so much more enjoyable. After a quick shower we had a service project with the church youth doing yard work all afternoon. Needless to say, I was nerdy and didn't feel at all bad for doing nothing Saturday night but blog while the boys watched basketball.

{who needs curtains?}

I set out to do this last weekend, but just got around to it this Sunday (story of my life). I gave a little love to a flee-market-find & paired with the one my mom found on the side of the road, our eat-in area has privacy without sacrificing light!

Whimsey Giveaway

gardens of whimsey bobbies giveaway
I'm excited to bring you a super fun giveaway via April from Gardens of Whimsey. April is giving away a set of 4 dogwood bobbies to one lucky reader. I asked her a few questions about her inspiration and her etsy:

Q: What are the inspirations for the items in your shop? Do you have any other sites or stores you sell in?
A: I get a lot of inspiration from movies and books. Whenever I feel stumped or in a rut creatively, I just pop in one of my many period piece films and that usually gets things going. In addition to making hair accessories, i love to sew historical costumes. I have another etsy shop, Closets of Whimsey, but I have decided to close it temporarily as I don't have enough time in the day to sew huge projects. {bonus- April is having a closing sale at her closets shop}.

Q: Tell me about the charity that you donate 5% of your sales to.
A: I donate 5% of every sale to I have been donating to their organization for a couple of years now and i really appreciate the efforts they take to try and end hunger and suffering across the globe. What is really unique about them is the "Pass on the Gift" concept. If a family receives some livestock from Heifer, as soon as that animal has offspring, they pass it on to another family in need and so on and so forth. So any gift you give, keeps multiplying.

Visit Gardens of Whimsey and leave a comment to be entered to win. You can gain 5 additional entries in the following ways {make sure to leave an additional comment for each entry}: 1) become a follower 2) mention this giveaway and Gardens of Whimsey on your blog 3) add Wild and Precious to your blog scroll 4) twitter or update your facebook status about this giveaway 5) add Gardens of Whimsey as a favorite on Etsy.

A winner will be chosen at random on Friday, April 2. Good luck!

Unique Gift Idea

Wedding Gift season is here & it is so easy to run out of ideas (and money). Check out for some inexpensive posters and screen prints that make great gifts for friends with special affections for cities. Each city is mapped out by neighborhoods -- too cute! My friend Rachel clued me in to these this past Christmas & my (almost) sister-in-law, who has spent every summer in Seattle for the past several years, loved the screen print. It was perfect. chicago

There are a good handfuls of fun cities, but I'm still waiting on my love, Nashville. Ork Posters also offers some creative and inexpensive ways to hang or mount your purchase.

Too Wiggly

I was too wiggly yesterday for my own good -- so I'm a day late with my wiggles.

I first heard this band via this video, which has been keeping me jazzed all week. I'm not a biker at all, but it makes me want to go outside and dance off the walls.

Whitest Whites

Sickenly Addictive
{i love everything about this top photo... i'm gonna pretend its me!}
I undertook the daunting chore of changing out my closet this past weekend. Spring has been a bit shy (only gave me 41 degrees yesterday) so I thought re-closeting would be an encouraging you can do it! The weather has definitely perked up & within a few weeks we'll be wearing white (I'm not too into rules, but I do follow the white & linen ones).

Right now all my whites are in a messy pile on my bedroom chair. Some of them are old, but still have good wear left. I want to pump some life back into my whites & was thinking of doing a bleach cycle. I need advice! Is bleach bad? Not even sure how to do it...

Do you have any whitest white tips? Any green whitening alternatives?

Everyone's a Winner

To Jort or Not to Jort

Spring is here and the legs are coming out! If you have been shopping in the last couple of weeks you've probably done what I am calling the Jorts Double Take -- "did I just see jean shorts {aka: jorts}?" Well, yes, indeed you did! They are everywhere. For those of us who are still trying to forget the jorts of the '90s this can be a little hard to swallow. But they are back with a vengeance & I say we better just embrace them!

What do you think? Will you Jort?

Have a Happy Day!

I hope you have a warm & colorful weekend!

I'm so excited about spending time outdoors! I'm also going to try to rejuvenate a stained glass window I found at the flea market. What are your plans?

Can I Brag for a Second?!

David won second place in a national contest for this charcoal he did of yours truly (check it out here) . I came home from work one day to see that he had started & finished this piece from a picture he took of me a couple years ago & just loved it immediately.

McLeod Art, Blair

David's also got some new stuff up on his website that's fantastic (if I do say so myself). I'm really loving this one:

McLeod Art, Outside the City

Oh -- and here's a little secret: we're thinking up a blog giveaway of some McLeod Art...
