To Jort or Not to Jort
Spring is here and the legs are coming out! If you have been shopping in the last couple of weeks you've probably done what I am calling the Jorts Double Take -- "did I just see jean shorts {aka: jorts}?" Well, yes, indeed you did! They are everywhere. For those of us who are still trying to forget the jorts of the '90s this can be a little hard to swallow. But they are back with a vengeance & I say we better just embrace them!
What do you think? Will you Jort?
I definitely plan on wearing them. I have a pair of jeans that are a bit too baggy on me but I think they will make perfect mid-thigh shorts.

i just cut some old jeans yesterday! the only problem is that they weren't baggy, so to try to fold them up is a bit tight... we'll see.
ReplyDeletehmmm. I don't think I likey. They look great if you have long skinny fashion model legs but I just end up looking kind of stubby and wide in mid-length shorts. Ironically, short shorts make my legs look longer/better :P (at least the way I see myself) I have been known to chop some jeans into CAPRIS, however!

ReplyDeleteYikes - yes I do remember these. Humm will I participate in jorts this year? I don't know. Did you buy any? I probably will if I can find the right fit. I think in the 90's I wore mine too tight :)
ReplyDeleteHaha I love this post, made my morning. "The jort" too good! I don't know how I feel about it now but man when I was younger I was the jean short or as you'd say "jort" queen! I used to wear them quite short unlike these photos, though I would definitely wear the longer ones now!! Don't know if ill jump on! Time will tell when I do my spring shopping!!
ReplyDeleteCan i say how much i love the new jorts? I hated acid washed but they remind me of these jeans i had that were my dads-- made in to cut offs. I wore most of one summer in high school. I thought i was soooo cool.
