Tomato Miscellany

{1} I've said it before, but I love my neighborhood. It is colorful to say the least! The annual Tomato Art Fest is perhaps the most colorful day on the East Nashville calendar. {Inspired by the colorful fest I couldn't help but to play with the color wheel on my photo editor}

{2} It was way WAY hot... but my favorite way to eat tomatoes is cooked, so I guess it was fitting. David and I each made our own tomato badges before heading over to the festivities (just a mile from our house), but our badges had nothing on some of the ladies in the Red Head competition.

{3} A new breakfast favorite I have discovered - sliced cooked tomato, avocado, and runny fried egg on toast

{4} There are over 7500 varieties of maters

{5} According to Guinness, the largest mater ever was 7lbs 12oz

{6} In honor of the weekend's festivities david has his own tomato art sale on his website -- tomatoes by david}

  17. I didn't make it over here on Monday, but I still wanted to visit. I enjoyed the post on the Tomato Fest. It looks like a fun day. We have tomatoes like crazy on our farm this year! We're harvesting 25 bushel a week, but that's what we do for a living. Have a good week.
