barn wood table

So perhaps I've bragged about my husband before... but I thought it was time for a little bit more because I wanted to share with you my dinning table and bench.  you see... my husband made it.  All but the chairs -- he just designed and made.  He found some restored barn wood from a local seller for a ridiculous good price and then just went to work.  The benches are also storage units!  Something our house is currently short on. (p.s. they still need a coat of white paint)  Also -- you can't totally see the magnificence of the lighting, but david designed and installed those too.  They are on a pulley system in the attic to you can pull them up and down to change the height -- closer to the ceiling or closer to the table for dinner dinning.  Plus he put them on dimmers.  Berry painting is also his.

I warned you about the bragging.  Thank you sweet David!

I love this space now.  I don't have an "office" and so now I love sitting under the window on the bench at the end of the table.  Perfect place to work and see everything that is going on around me.  Our house is about to get crazy busy/messy as we add on to our house, but when all that is done I'm excited to add some pillows/cushions to the bench and some fun end chairs.  I'm thinking mustard & white chevron??
