My Full Cup -or- Why Being an Extrovert Doesn't Matter

In the car (Magda Row's swag wagon to be exact) on the way home from Influence Confernce. I felt like writing. So, I pulled out my computer – the one I brought to the conference and didn’t open once. I brought it as a security… you know, just incase I found myself alone and needed to hit up Netflix or something. Silly Blairita (um.. which, btw in spanglish means “little blair”) why did I listen to any little lie that I would be, or would want to be, by myself. This extrovert is walking away with a full cup. I was with my people. Yes sweet blog friends. We are a people. We are God’s people (Deut. 7:6) and as Christian bloggers we are kinda like our own little tribe… ahh. Feels awesome right?

So yes. I am an extrovert. Rebecca aka @betterlifebags, who I might have hugged more than anyone this weekend, is an introvert. At Influence there was a huge mix of Es and Is. My cup IS full. But so is Rebecca’s cup. A blogging conference might seem like one of the last places an introvert would want to be, but she too is going home on full -- not empty.

So what does that tell us? I can come home and say that I’m ready to walk into another super fun and busy week (my sissy’s wedding!!!) not because I brushed elbows with 200+ beautiful people, but because of the way God used those people to fill my cup. Extrovert or Introvert our energy is not found in man -- ourselves or others. It’s God, it’s God, and only God. When He is present come thirsty and drink. He fills. He fulfills.

  1. I used to be an introvert for sure but have become more and mor of an extrovert over the last few years. It's kind of shocked me! Bumming that I dien't get to go this weekend. But glad to hear your cup is full, sounds like God was present :)
