influence meet & greet
Not much longer now!! It's almost time for Influence Conference! We haven't even stepped foot into the opening Stripes Party (which will be amazing) and all ready great things are happening and community is growing! What a fun fun FUN group of women that are about to descend on Indy! Woohoo -- CAN NOT WAIT!... but while we do wait, lets do a get to know you pre-conference meet & greet. I, along with Influence's other community leaders, are hosing a link up so we can start to get to know each other. Here's the prompt & "rules":
Write:
3 "get to know me" things
2 things I'm excited about the conference
1 thing I can't leave home without
"Rules"
Have a ticket to the conference
visit the person who linked up before you and introduce yourself...
(you only need to link up on one of our blogs and it will show up on all of them)
okey dokey... I'll dig right in:
get to know me 1 2 3...
ONE. I work full time as assistant middle school youth director at my church. Its the best. I love our students -- so full of life. They teach me so much as we grow together in Christ. This job is a huge blessing on me and my family. From Magnolia (my 13mo. old baby love) being loved on by the girls, to having a flexible schedule so David and I can juggle things together, from getting to be with Mom's in the women's Bible study, to learning knew things as I prepare lessons... I love it.
TWO. I love Nashville. I just love this city. Perfect size. Great neighborhoods. Easy to navigate. Diverse. Music. Good food. Good parks. Good distance from our families. I just love it all (well I don't love titans traffic on Sunday afternoons...)! As someone who moved a handful of times growing up, I really can see myself just digging my roots in deep and sticking around indefinitely.

THREE. My husband is a full time artist (davidbrucemcleod.com). Oh i love this man and all his brilliant talent. He was an engineering and studio art major at Vanderbilt. Sound like an odd match to you? Yea, me too! But when I watch him paint it all begins to make sense -- his precision and process... his heart and mind just melt together and come out his brush. His dedication to the pursuit of his gift as God has called ministers to me everyday.
excited about influence 1 2...
ONE. becoming RL friends!.. Real Life.. not just "blog world."... I'm looking forward to building some real relationships. Just getting to be with all of you --- who understand the blog world and won't stare at me puzzled for having "blog friends." I'm excited to learn along side everyone. Challenge each other. Encourage each other. (does that all count as just one thing?)
TWO. Carpooling up with Life Edited & Magda Row // sharing a room with Moriah Makes, Suzie Studios, & The Mom Diggity! {pssst --- if you need help with finding a roommate or maybe even carpool... let me know. I'll help get you connected}
can't leave home without...
My daughter!! eeeeek!! I mean I can... and I obviously have... but never over night. Influence Conference will be the first time. Y'all are gonna have to just hug me through it!
-------
Well there it is... If you're coming too, link up below. If you are still thinking about coming visit the links below to see all the wonderful lay-dees who will be there as some extra motivation + this link to learn more. ReplyDeleteOh I'm so jealous of you living in Nashville. I've only been once, but I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. I need to go back soon....Maybe it should be a site for Influence 2.0? Yay!
ReplyDeleteI AM SO EXCITED!!!!! :) Thanks for adding me to the carpool. Should we try and meet before the actual drive date? Or not? Either way....I'm completely dying for it to get here. :) I think my new house (not closed on it yet) is going to be pretty nearby where you and Amanda live. At least the area of town. That should be fun! Excited to meet you girls! Still officially looking for a roommate though if you have any ideas. If not....I might crash on someone else's floor so they can enjoy a kidless night of sleep in a bed by themselves. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting you!!! I've always wanted to live in Nashville, so glad you love it there! :) ~Bri~
