Wedding Deets: save the dates

So excited to start this little mini series about the details (the deets) of my twin sister's upcoming October wedding!  As the time gets closer I'll be sharing different vendors of her choosing from stationery to jewelry to photography.  first in order is save the dates.

a little about the betrothed:

Jessica and Dan met in 1999 during a science fair trip (she was a freshman, he was a senior -- they were both in biology club), but didn't start daiting until 2010.  They have been dating long distance, knoxville, tn to fayetville, arkansas and have been engaged for nearly a year now.  Their long distance woes will soon end in September and the nuptials will take place on a farm in October.  He's finishing his PHd work in agricultural science and she's a physician's assistant.  .

Wedding Deet #1: Jessica's save the dates are from Pear Tree Greetings

When looking for Save the Dates Jessica really wanted to find something that was "quick and easy but doesn't look thrown together."  And while she didn't want to make a huge fuss deliberating over fonts and layouts, she wanted to be able to pick a motif that suited her tastes and matched her wedding vision.  Says the bride:
I spent a long time looking at different online stationary shops that friends had suggested to me.  I tried "customizing" on a few different sites but it was stressful and I didn't feel like I ever came to a finished project that felt like me.  I was starting to get frustrated.  Pear Tree Greetings solved all those problems.  It was completely user friendly without having to scroll through pages and pages of options and hidden texts.  I found a layout I liked, uploaded my pictures, changed a couple fonts and I was done.  Shipping was fast & customer service was better than average.  The price was way reasonable too!  I'll definitely be using Pear Tree Greetings for my milestones.
Jessica ended up picking out a simple save the date postcard that included 4 pictures and some of the colors from the wedding (I'll share on the blog after they are all send out).  Now if simple isn't your thing and you like more bells and whistles they have several options of what they call their "golden pears" - designs that take the wow factor to the next level.  Two of my favorites below:

In addition to save the dates, Pear Tree Greetings features all sorts of greetings and invitations from babys to holidays and everything in between.  You can make wedding napkinsthank you notesmagnet reminders... if you can dream it -- they probably have already thought of it.  Final word from my sissy, the bride "very very pleased with everything - 100% recommend & not just for wedding stuff!"
