Coming up... The most dramatic rose ceremony ever...

Y'all -- I HATE The Bachelor.  I do.  And I HATE The Bachelorette.  In theory, I really do dislike these shows so so much.  Every season I swear to myself I won't watch.  And then... well duh, I watch them.  And I sit there watching them and as one of my friends says about his own viewing of it - "If you really want a good view of the depth of my depravity, how much I can sit and judge someone, you should come watch me watch the bachelor." - Yup.  That's me too.  I sit.  I get sucked in.  And then I start hatin' on and judging people.  That show is not good for my soul.  It makes me ugly.  Why do I find it entertaining?  Sometimes it is like watching a train wreck.  I really honestly gave the show up and reallllly was not going to watch... but... a new twist... I know one of the contestants.  Now I HAVE to watch.  Right? I mean, I hate that I have to... but I have to.

Yup.  There's Mr. Ryan Bowers there in the cowboy hat (picture scanned from college yearbook).  I didn't know him super well, but we went to college together and were a part of the same campus ministry.  Star football player and all around good guy.  So yea... now I have to watch right?

Ryan was the one with the note that said "you're beautiful, i'm nervous," & spoiler alert
  >>> stop reading if you don't like spoilers <<<
Ryan gets the first one-on-one date!

Well, okay enough of that.  I of course only have nice things to say about Ryan, but I better stop talking on the subject of The Bachelor before I start spewing negative things about the over usage of superlativs (is every episode truly more dramatic than the last - the most ever?!) or how contestants act like they don't know that they signed up for a show that their "date" would be kissing 15 other people,... right. yes. stopping there.  Again - WHY do I watch?!?  Please, if we have any sort of relationship and I can claim I know you - don't go on this show so I can stand some sort of a chance of never watching it again.

---
I've read all the realitySteve spoilers so I already know what happens (mostly) -- but, who do YOU think the final four will be?...

  2. It's a good question. I don't watch 'reality tv" because I get soooo sucked in. So it's better for me not to start watching at all. That being said, I am here in NY with Lauren and the first show of the new season came on the tv. I looked up and saw that one of Sarah's friends is one of the bachelors (that would be JEF (with one "F"). So there will be no escaping this season for me. There is nothing redeeming at all about this show - really...a "soul mate" when you are making out with 20 people? Having overnights with three people even tho you "knew all along." Is it all about being a winner? Everyone of these guys wants to be with her? How is that possible? It is a show totally lacking in soul. It is everything I would hate my children or friends to be about. A society of barflies? I HATE IT. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. And, yes, I will be watching, too. Let me know when figure out WHY we watch.

  6. That picture cracks me up, I choreographed that dance for that skit. We shamelessly choice good looking guys to be in it to recruit girls to that meeting. I guess we are not that different from the bachelorette:) OH, Dear. the scoop is that he shared his faith with many on the show and was well respected, that he said no to producers when they told him to do things that he did not feel comfortable with. Not convinced being on the show was the best idea of his life but I am proud of how he handled it. Thanks for posting this picture, it was a good laugh!

  7. I stopped watching the bachelor/ette fter Trista/Ryan and I think Jessie Palmer. It got so horrible after that and I couldn't understand the catty women and well, tramps that would get on there. Not to mention the over dramatic and fake men as well. SO I can't say I'll ever watch.

I'm sure I'd be sucked in a bit if I knew someone was on there, or any reality show for that matter, too, so no judging here. ;)
