Find a Happy Place

When we went to our birthing class a couple weeks ago at the hospital, the lady kept telling us to picture your favorite beach.  Now, I like the beach okay... but, four a couple hours at a time & it's not my favorite when it comes to relaxation and vacation enjoyment.  Plus, when I did picture a beach I pictured our honeymoon (where we got dropped off at our own island everyday) and the nurse would then start talking about the sunset on the beach, which actually did not relax me but stressed me out because on our honeymoon sunset meant a very choppy very long boat ride back to our villa.  Eeks -- the beach is not my happy place.

Over the last few days, the home stretch grumps have set in.... EVERYTHING* sets me off and EVERYTHING* makes me tired.  I've been in need of a "happy place."  It rained last night so the weather this morning was pleasantly cool.  In the car on the way to work I saw a hip dude on a bike & between him and the cool air, I flashed back to Seattle & felt a little bit of happy creep in and start battling my blues for me.

David and I went to Seattle two summers ago.  It was our first "real" vacation together (besides honeymoon & not just lake, cabin, or to see family).  I loved everything about it.  Everything.  We went to Seattle for a few nights first and then traveled north for a couple hours to stay in a little cabin on the puget sound.  We also went on the most amazing (and difficult) hike in the Cascades to the top of Dock Butte .  EVERYTHING about this trip I loved -- most of all just being with my sweet man.

Ready for this baby to come.  So thankful for all the ways the Lord blesses me.  Praying for a better attitude and a bit of rest.

*EVERYTHING is actually not all inclusive, part of my grumpiness includes me being over dramatic.  My sweet husband, family, and friends have been so supportive and so patient with me -- helping me pick things off the floor, bringing me things from only 4 feet away, and putting up with my all around rottenness.

  7. I'm not really a big beach person, either. I enjoy the beach okay but can't ever relax because I dislike the sand and the ocean sort of creeps me out.

I prefer a quiet lakeside cabin and love all of these photos. They really do look peaceful.
