book nook & a winner!

on this monday-ie Monday, I'm wishing I was curled up in a cozy place reading the day away...

I'm not very good about spending time reading.  I love books, but start so many without finishing them.  How bout you? Are you a big reader?  What are you reading? Are you in a book club?

  1. Hi Blair,

    Great pics, as always.

I do love to read. My favorite is Victoria Holt. I'm currently reading How to Make an American Quilt. I'm only halfway through though. I love it!

Another favorite of mine is Having Our Say by the Delany Sisters. Have you read this book? It's great. I found it sitting on a bookstore and instantly recognized the name of the sisters so I bought it at a really cheap price!

How I wish I had corners like these where I can curl up with my book!

  2. Love that last room :)
And yes I am a big reader, but I tend to read only in bed before I fall asleep!

    Have a lovely Monday!

  3. Love the pictures. I used to be a big reader when I was younger, like I can finish 2 a day but now it takes me forever to finish a book.

  4. That white seat in the background of picture 2, is my dream seat!!!!!
And your books sounds really interesting, but I have the same problem as you with finishing them.. so less time, so many books...

  5. I absolutely love to read, but I can usually only do so in the summertime when I'm not teaching and have more time on my hands ;)

  6. I love to read and haven't in ages. There is quite a pile of books stacking up in my room waiting for me. I was in a book club for a couple years but when I started my business I found I couldn't get the books read in time so I dropped out. I do miss it.

  7. i'm not really a reader, though i'd love to be. there are a few books that i've gotten sucked into and finished within a few days, but that doesn't happen often.

  8. I LOVE reading, but I always feel bad when I'm reading for pleasure during the semester... like I should be actually reading my textbooks!

  11. HUGE reader (haha obviously--I'm in grad school for creative writing and publishing!)

Just finished re-reading "Love Walked In" by Marisa de los Santos, it's one of my top favorites, I highly suggest it!

And last night I started "This Is Where I Leave You" by Jonathan Tropper--it's REALLY entertaining, so I think it'll be a breezy read!

    Happy Monday :)

  15. You're right - today is a perfect day to curl up with a blanket and a good book. I love to read. Right now I'm in the middle of reading Shauna Niequist's Bittersweet. I absolutely love it, and definitely recommend it!

  16. Blair, you are not the only one who starts so many books without finishing. You should do a book review on The 50 Things Your Life Doesn't Need. I am very interested in it!

  18. I'm currently reading Dreamers of the Day and really enjoying it. I love reading, but my grad school work takes up most of my time. Ironically, I'm studying to be a librarian. Anyway, how do you like Her Fearful Symmetry? I thought the plot was interesting, but certain parts were pretty disturbing.

  19. Oh sigh. These photos make me not want to me at work Miss Blair. I am reading Still Alice right now, very good so far but like you, I too find it hard to find time to read. When can we get together you and I?! lol xoxox

  20. Oh I wish I was curled up in these spaces reading. It's been such a busy day. I'm reading "The Girl who played with Fire". The sequel to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It's pretty good!! =) Ooo That's the same author of "The Time Traveler's Wife" who wrote "Her Fearful Symmetry". Let us know how that is!! =)
