Ellie's Run 2010

Ellie's Run was a blast. Thank you so much to those of you who supported me, sponsored a child, and prayed for the race. The weather was great (although the course, like most of Nashville, was pretty soggy). I don't have my grand total yet, but I am so thankful to have been able to raise $750 dollars! Thats 30 kids in school!! The other fun news is that I came in 3rd for my age group. I still can't do what I could in high school (maybe one day), but hubs ran with me the whole way and it felt great.

Each year each runner runs in honor of one of the school's students. David & I so much enjoy praying for these kids as we run. At the end of the race the runners write their child a note which will be delivered to them sometime this summer. It's such a sweet tangible way to gain some understanding of why and who we are running for.

My sweet running friend Betsie ran for her 3rd year too. The cute red head is Ellie, it was her dream as at 10-year-old that started this race.

Every year there is an awesome African band and dancers. I love it and always leave wanting to take an African dance class. Wouldn't you love to see that?

I actually took an African dance class in college for a semester. It was one of the most fun classes. And the drummers were incredible (and hot!)
