...about the flood...

Thanks for everyone's sweet concern and prayers. I want to make a note that despite the smiles in my previous post, that I do not make light of the situation my community is facing. While David & I are extremely blessed to be individually unaffected, a lot of our neighbors are screaming out. Several people are facing extreme loss & find themselves in deep need, not only for the physical things they have lost, but need of encouragement and support. Several businesses are under water, including Nashville landmarks. Many churches are closed for the indefinite future. Roads & interstates are still closed. We are facing a water shortage. The list of loss just doesn't seem to stop growing. There are a lot of panic-filled, scared people. Your prayers for my neighbors (in the largest sense possible) are so very very warmly welcomed.

  3. Sweet girl, I know every emotion your community is feeling. Four and a half years ago when Katrina ravaged our home and our loves, we felt such emptiness and sorrow. Please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you. Also know, that while there is light after darkness. It will come, it just may take some time. But I will tell it that it will come.

Please let me know if there is something your neighbors need - sheets, towels, clothes, shampoos, detergent, anything. I hoped for every other community to never have an opportunity to return the kindness paid to us after the storm, but since this disaster has unfortunately struck, I would love to be able to pay it forward.
