Q: Tell me about yourself & why you love creating jewelery?

A: I'm 26 & love creating new designs! I took interest in Jewelry at a young age exploring my grandmothers jewelry box was a hobby of mine. I always felt at peace in that blue room of hers with her vintage jewelry at my finger tips. I still see her and the feeling of that room hasn't changed. I've always been creative, but never really though about making jewelry till I became ill with chronic Lyme disease. I as miss-diagnosed for a while, leaving me with side effects that could last forever. Jewelry offers me an outlet to channel that creative force within. It's something I can physically do and am very grateful for. I thank the Lord for this opportunity each and everyday.

Q: Who or what are your most creative influences?

A: It's funny, I live in this small town of Buffalo, MN & we have this big event every month called the Occasional Sales. It's always the first Thursday of every month & runs through Sunday. People from all over come to visit our town & I sell my jewelry at one of these shops called The Porch and Atelier. We were all very excited last month because Teresa Dejarlais, who owns the shop, was featured in the March Country Living Magazine. Long story short, it's a beautiful shop full of vintage furnishings that give me a tone of inspiration! My mother is another creative influence -- always pushing me to use my creativity from an early age.

Q: Do you listed to music or do anything special when you are creating jewelry?

A: I used to listen to music while creating jewelry, but soon realized that it was distracting me. Now (don't laugh) I open up our windows in our living room and listen to the birds sing. It's very relaxing and inspiring to me. I sing and play guitar, so sometimes I break from time to time to find inspiration through my music. I work best when I take short breaks when creating because it keeps the creative juices flowing!
