Siloam

John 9:1-11
1
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

3"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. 4As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

6Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. 7"Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

8His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, "Isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg?" 9Some claimed that he was.
Others said, "No, he only looks like him."
But he himself insisted, "I am the man."

10"How then were your eyes opened?" they demanded.

11He replied, "The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see."

I HAVE A NEW JOB!... In just a little over 2 weeks I will become part of the team over at Siloam Family Health Center! I could not be more excited. What a blessed journey this has been. God has revealed his faithfulness to me in a magnitude of grace and I am truly humbled.

To give a blurb, SFHC "is committed to caring for the uninsured in Middle Tennessee by providing high-quality, affordable health care that meets the needs of the whole person -- physical, emotional and spiritual. Siloam’s health care program is designed to be culturally sensitive, preserve dignity and reflect our mission to share the love of Christ by serving those in need through health care. Staff, volunteers and donors carry out this ministry of health, healing and hope for those who are underserved and have few options for medical care. We conducted more than 16,000 patient encounters in 2007."

I truly am honored to become a part of this team. From the moment I walked in for my first interview I felt a tug on my heart screaming that I wanted to be there and I have just been encouraged ever since! I accepted the job of Volunteer Coordinator yesterday and am just so excited. For those of you who have been praying for me for so long I thank you! I have learned so much from all of you in this journey. God is so preciously good!
